For the past 2 summers we have raised caterpillars into butterflies. The girls love to check the butterfly house every day to see how they are changing. On a warm afternoon in July we let the butterflies go. The kids each got to hold a butterfly on their finger before they flew away. It is a fun tradition that is educational too!

Zack got one of these for Christmas and we loved doing it this spring. He has done it at school every year and wanted one so bad. The sad thing was that all the butterflies hatched ten minutes after he went to school!! It was so sad that he missed it, but he still loved them.
